Overview: The Life Skills Development program for adults is designed to support the participation of recipients in valued community routines through comprehensive training services. Our Adult Day Training (ADT) services include meaningful day activities and targeted training in activities of daily living, adaptive skills, and social skills. The training, activities, and routines established by the ADT are tailored to be meaningful to each recipient, ensuring an appropriate level of variation and interest.
Program Objectives:
- Enhance Daily Living Skills: Empower participants with the skills needed for independent living and self-sufficiency.
- Develop Adaptive Skills: Equip participants with the ability to adapt to various environments and situations.
- Improve Social Skills: Foster the development of social interactions and communication abilities.
- Promote Meaningful Engagement: Ensure all activities and routines are engaging and relevant to the participants’ interests and needs.
Program Structure:
- Schedule: The program is offered five days per week, from six to eight hours per day.
- Training and Activities: Each day, a minimum of four hours will be dedicated to training and program activities designed to achieve individually determined goals.
- Community Integration: Services are provided in community-integrated settings whenever possible to enhance real-world learning and engagement.
Implementation Plan:
- Individualized Planning: Each participant's program is customized based on a formal implementation plan. This plan is developed under the direction of the participant and reflects the goals outlined in their current support plan.
- Goal-Oriented Approach: The primary service expectation is to achieve the individualized goals determined by the participant's support plan. Regular monitoring and adjustments ensure that these goals are being met.
